St. Michael's Ardkenneth

Welcome to the most northerly parish on South Uist.  This is where parish priest Fr Michael MacDonald resides and where all the other churches are served from. The Church of St Michaels was built in 1829, making it the oldest Catholic Church in the Diocese of Argyll and the Isles in continuous use. The sanctuary has recently been re-configured according to a design by Neil MacDonald and built by Neil MacIntyre, both parishioners of Ardkenneth. A new altar has been added - designed and built by Neil MacDonald with panels designed and built by Jarlath Fenton, North Uist. You are welcome to visit - if you scroll down our precise location is is shown courtesy of Google Maps at the bottom of this page. Also click on the Videos below to be introduced to the Church by Fr MIchael.
